MISS AINAMARDIA
Second week, we learn about two topics is Getting To Know The Campus and Memory Learning & Improving Concentration.
GETTING TO KNOW THE CAMPUS
ACADEMIC RESOURCES
- Ex; (Library, Information Technology & Computer, Register)
HOUSING, DINING AND TRANSPORTATION RESOURCES
- Ex (Buses, House and Dining places)
STUDENTS ORGANIZATION RESOURCES
- Extra-curricular & Leisure Activities. Ex; (HEP/PB/U.SPORT/U.FACILITY/U.HEATH)
MEMORY LEARNING & IMPROVING CONCENTRATION
- Understanding memory processes
- Memory strategies
- Understanding concentration
- Strategies for improving concentration
- Reading/study system (SQ3R)
MEMORY VS BRAIN
- Memory (Computer Software)
- Brain (Computer Hardware)
Question :
- Encoding/input (computer-keyboard, camera: human- the 5 sense; ears, mouth, noise, skin, eyes)
- Storage (computer-hard disk, tumb drive; human-3 types of memory - SM, STM, LTM)
- Retrieval/output (computer-computer screen, pointer; human -writing, talking)
MEMORY
#Sensory memory
#Long and short memory
SENSORY MEMORY (SM)
1. Saving information
2. Temporary
3. Give care
SHORT-TERM MEMORY (STM)
1. Allow information to be received and stored
2. A short period (30 sec-24 hours)
3. Overloading of storing information is limited
LONG-TERM MEMORY (LTM)
1.Information in the memory of a long period of time
2. In fact, any information stored on this system is to remain so end a person's life, but depending on the power of that person's ability to "recall'
RECALL
1. Weaknesses to 'recall' stored information
ACTIVITY 2: (Close your eyes)
MEMORY
FORGET = nuisance/not focus and attention/time factor
REMEMBER = interest/repeat/training
How to Improve Your Strategy?
- break a sweat
- eat well
- chill out
- workout your brain
- get good medical care
- lack of attention
- lack of interest
- lack of motivaton
- distraction from others
- uncomfortable environment
- physiological mutters - illness,tiredness
- physiological mutters - personal problems,worries,anxieties
- monitor your concentration
- match your learning style to the task
- use active learning strategies (as discussed in improving memory)
- deal with internal distraction- deal with personal problems, deal with competing activities
- use motivational and organizational strategies- use goals setting strategies
- create a positive learning environment- find a better location
- make a survey to get an overview of the chapters that will be read
- topics, subtopics, the introduction, chart, picture
- read the questions while reading so that he mind is always looking for answer
- read paragraph for infomation
- then, find answer from the question that have been built, formed, it help students focus on reading
- summarize, refract the paragraph
- create a short note
- remember and memorize the important point
- efficiency with a topic will increase if thoughts are reinforced with training and review
- revise
- see not again
- try to recall the built-in the questions and try to answer them again
- brief, clear notes are stored in long-term memory
#teach other 90%
THANK YOU
